I am a 67 year old man. Six weeks ago I fell and broke, or rather shattered, my right femur. Mr Dudhniwala carried out a 3-4 hour intramedullary nailing the next day. He made me feel very comfortable and calm before the operation and I woke up comfortably in bed afterwards. He visited me a couple of times in the ward where I spent ten days recovering and explained clearly what he had done and the likely path to recovery. This operation was some kind of magic to me. I could not imagine how anyone could fix a shattered femur by making just three small incisions in my leg, two at the knee and one at the thigh. These 1 - 2 inch incisions were stapled and healed quickly with no pain or soreness. The staples were removed after a couple of weeks leaving clean small scars. I met Mr Dudhniwala six weeks after the operation and he advised me to begin weight bearing with the aim of being 100% weight bearing in two weeks. This was a far quicker recovery than I had feared. I have every confidence in the expertise of this highly skilled consultant and owe him a debt of gratitude for helping me recover from an horrific fracture.

Mr Dudhniwala is very knowledgeable and professional - his examinations were thorough and it was clear he knew the right steps to take to resolve my issue. He referred me for appropriate treatment and I found his detailed notes to be very helpful in helping me understand my condition better. One thing I would say is that I found his manner to be very formal and at times quite brash. Considering I was in quite a lot of pain at my first appointment, I didn't feel Mr Dudhniwala was very empathetic to my condition which made me feel quite unwelcome. However, this is a personal preference of mine and Mr Dudhniwala did provide the right referrals and advice with regards to my condition which I appreciate.

This surgeon should be knighted. Why? He is absolutely brilliant. Because of the internet we have all become Doctor Googles and think we know more the our GPs or operating surgeons. Realising the seriousness of Spinal Stenosis surgery as Dr. Google I was immediately set at ease by his attitude, explanation of the operation, possible risks, total professionalism, and a marvellous "bedside manner". The surgery went well and I am no longer in pain from the base of my spine. I believe vertebre L3 and L4 were the ones Mr Dudhniwala made adjustments to, and extremely close to the spinal cord. He made regular visits to me in my hospital room and explained in depth how the operation went. He really assured me all went well. I have complete faith in his expertise. My I recommend this surgeon to all requiring spinal surgery. Thank you Mr Dudhniwala and our wonderful NHS. Paul Whitmore.
